. . . all the pols think we're stupid
I got a call to arms from Chuck Schumer today. We gotta get rid of Mitch McConnell. I agree that McConnell is a problem. Trump is a problem. The Republican Party is a problem. But so is the whole damn Democratic Party. If they wanted us to believe that they have their constituents' interest's at heart, they would have voted no on all the bills they should know would be harmful for the general populaton. Instead they have given Trump everything or almost everything Trump wants. More realistically, they're giving their billionaire donors everything they want.
We are on the verge of an economic disaster that will definitely be worse than the Great Recession, and may be worse than the Great Depression. Millions have lost their jobs. Millions are poised to be evicted from their homes. Thousands are dying from the virus including nurses and doctors on the front lines.
It's put me back to 2009, when I was undertaking Chaplaincy training at the start of the Great Recession. Here's a poem for you Senator Schumer - and you too, Speaker Pelosi
In my chaplaincy training
I had a patient who
an insignificant mite.
She whispered her lament to me:
that God gave me Leukemia.
I couldn’t help myself
I yelled at her
God didn’t give the bastards
wrecked our economy
give you Leukemia?
I thought to myself
no, no, no, no, no
while I tried to find something comforting . . .
my humble patient said:
I never thought about it that way before.
